Oh Christmas...

Where did you go?

Seriously- I had been counting down to Christmas for MONTHS. MONTHS, I tell you. This is what happens everytime there is a set date for me to reunite with my family and my beauts (le momma & le sister).

Last Tuesday night we headed out in the dark to the Bluegrass state...oh Kentucky how I love thee. Well- except for the fact you are a mere 6 hours away. But that's okay- they make cars and husbands who drive them for a reason. Because I simply cannot just pick one photo that represents this wonderful time of the year- here is an assortment...

Annual cookie decorating competition- its usually not g-rated between these two.

Naked cookies

I wish I could tell you that it was awful. But it wasn't. Thanks PLL for this bakery recommendation!

Late night poker time.

My beauts, circa 2011.
Annual Gingerbread house- love our own traditions.

Yes- the cookie to the right has on chaps- with his ass hanging out. Told you.
And lets not forget about a few of my new, favorite things!
Such great family ( &hub) who got me so many things I was coveting on my list! They are truly my  heart- and not just because they buy me things. :)

And, no holiday season would be complete without a few things I may, or may not have purchased accidentally for myself.
I never thought I could cheat on MAC, but we are having a full-blown love affair.

So in love with my new Sigmas...
So, there you have it- my Christmas in a nutshell. I know its a week late- but I needed to unplug for a bit {more on that in my New Years post}.

In the meantime- I wonder if you think I am a serious person. I can assure you, that 92% of the time- I am not.
   Your proof.
I am pretty sure Photobooth on Ipad is the best thing invented. Ever.  So many other great pics- but they happen to be of others- and I wish to preserve my relationship with them. You're welcome mom.
Many hugs my pupcakes!

Christmas Countdown

Let's be real- for one hot (or cold, depending on your geographical location. One point for me, using big words)second. Our friend Mr. Claus is coming to town. And quick. Does anyone else feel like December snuck up on them real quick? I don't like sneaky people months.

We are spending this magical holiday with my family so I wanted my precious tree home, up and sparkling the weekend after Thanksgiving. Normally we don't start this early, but this year I was pretty much gung-ho for operation glitter explosion. {Sending a shoutout to my hub, for being post nasal surgery and doing this with me. Love him!}

I won't chatter much more. So, take a deep breath, imagine yourself in a place of glitter, snow, fire and spiked eggnog. (That's for you Raven- I got you girl.} Yes, its Christmas. Please come and party with me!

So, avoid the malls, the lines, the rude people with jabby elbows. And plant yourself on your couch with your Ipad (santa are you listening? I need this!) and do your last minute shopping. They offer 1 day shipping for a reason!

DIY-Christmas Style.

Hello my pupcakes! I am linking up with the gorgie Becky on this Tuesday- to bring you one of my DIY's, Christmas Edition. For my new friends who hopped on over here, welcome!

I feel sure that most of my savvy followers are already well aware of the amazing world that is Pinterest? Yes? Good. Well, I had been wanting a new wreath to add to my Christmas mania decor. Though- I did not want to pay high dollar for said wreath...SO, I put on my DIY pants and got busy. At midnight.

What you'll need:
1 wire hanger
1 set of strong fingers
Glue gun
Approx. 60+ ornaments
Ribbon

1-  Remove tops of ornaments in preparation for a date with a hot glue gun. This is where you need to pay attention- You are NOT going to want to do this. You've probably already said, "Bish, there is no way I am removing every ornament top and hot gluing that shit." Mmm, Yes you are. Trust me- just do it. You will be a sorry son of a gun if you don't.

2- Glue gun time. Glue all tops onto ornaments. Try to avoid hot glue burns. Tho- if you have ever wrangled with a hot glue, you are pretty much aware that this is inevitable.

3- Use a wire hanger and shape into a circle. You may need a manly effort here- it was hard for me to crimp the wire in some places

4- Begin stringing the ornaments into place. I really didn't have a rhyme or reason here.

5- Use shatterproof ornaments. Case in point.

6- Starting to take shape,  yes?

                                                                          Hello gorgeous!

Now, go get busy- you have an wreath to make. Or wine to drink. Whatever.

Glitter Swap!

A few weeks back, two of my most favorite bloggers, one ToohotforwordsRaven and another Bargain Blonde announced their Glitter Swap. An amazing chance to get a fab gift and meet a new friend- sign me up! So, I was thrilled when I saw the little box waiting for me in my mail box..from my new friend, Zara!
Umm- hello gorgeous! Not only is she super cute, but she has great taste too!
I love new things especially when they just arrive in the mail- there is nothing better than Santa, am I right?

Now, go visit my friend in Colorado...Zara! {Thanks girlie, you're the best!}

And for any new visitors- I'm so glad that you decided to come visit me! Kick off your snow boots and tromp around a bit.

Stay tuned for a Christmas filled week.

Christmas Monday

I know, I know..its only October. BUT, do you know how close Christmas is? Its close my little pupcakes! So, from here on out...Every Monday is Christmas Monday. I was recently accused of focusing on the materialistic part of Christmas- aka I believe Christmas is a holiday because of shopping. Personally, I love learning about myself through others. So, what better way then to talk about the things I WANT!

1. I've said it before. But I am standing my ground. I.want.2.nigerian.pigmy.goats.pronto.

Be
 Still
my
 heart.

Operation Iwantagoat is not going over so well in this house. I wish that I would have taken a pic of the look that hub gave me just minutes ago, when I enlightened him about the sweet family I met today who had 3 (THREE!) pigmy goats. Let's just say I want them even more. Oh wait- his face was something like this:
In my defense- I have to have two, because goats like to be in herds. Ya hurd? And these little tinies love their buddies, as learned from aforementioned goat owner.

So WHY goats?

Wait- you don't want a goat? Growing up, I lived on a farm- minus the dairy cows, piglets and chickens. But, plus the horses, dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and goat. Yep- this little lassie was surrounded by furry love. And needless to say, I have carried it on into my adulthood. My family added a goat to our brood as one of our mares gave birth and sadly lost her life not shortly after. SO, this left a tiny baby horse without momma milk. Meet my sweet homegirl goat, Tiff. {There would be an awesome picture here, had I got the gumption to go scan some photos in} Not only was she a milk producing machine, we were 4-H superstars- yep we were Champs! And yes, she is the one who taught me how to speak goat. Seriously though. I can. I guess she + the tiny goat Rudy I used to goatsit for, have made me love the little tarts. They are the sweetest, most spunky, affectionate and playful little things ever.

I am busy drafting a letter to my "kind-of" neighbors {they live about a half a mile from me}to let them know that in the event they need assistance, I would gladly goat sit for them. Do you think that is creepy- especially if they have no idea who I am? I will tell you that I will only babysit as long as they are happy-on-a-farm-you-can-use-me-for-milk-but-not-eat-me kind of goats. This girl cannot go through that.

Well my peeps- enjoy the rest of your Monday...and rest easy, because tomorrow is Tuesday which is one step closer to the weekend!

Hugs,
S
