Loving & Loathing.
Loving...
Honey. Not just any honey though, this honey.
Seriously- there is nothing quite like spreadable honey. And it reminds me of Ma, my sweet grandma who is no longer here.
Taking a getaway- good friends, great scenery, a gorgeous cabin and delish food.
Blogs. I adore blog hopping and reading what other people have to say. One of my fav's?
www.kellehampton.com The story that brought me to her blog? This one. She is truly an amazing, amazing person.
Loathing...
Immature people. This is a constant loathing tho. It seems that no matter how old some peeps are, they still act like a 6th grader.
Humidity. We hardly had a Spring- its been in the 90's since the end of April. This summer is gonna be a doozey.
What are you loving & loathing?
Until nextime,
Hugs,
S

Qualm.
I have a qualm. That's a fun word, isn't it?
WHY do so many people have trouble spelling? I mean I get Math. No- not like that...I don't "get" math- ie. 1a+ 1b = xy. Lemme tell you something- I have NEVER used this. Nope, not once. This is why there are calculators my friends. I was trying to say that I get that people aren't good at Math. Because its clearly obvious that letters and numbers should never equal eachother. Duh.
For example:
I can't catch my breathe! Uh- seriously? Do you really not know that says breathE? Such as, " I can't breathE!"
Or, my personal fav:
I wish I could loose this tooth. OMGah people. C'mon!
LOOSE vs LOSE... I see it ALL the time on my FBookey friends posts. And everytime a tiny little scream escapes.
Am I the only one that notices this? Maybe we need to go back to these days...
Am I right? Go ahead- you know you wanna sing the theme song...
As your body grows bigger
Your mind grows flowered
It's great to learn
Cause knowledge is power!
Your welcome for getting that into your head!
Many Hugs,
S

Say Wha?
I will have to excuse myself for being completely absentee on the bloggity front for the past 3 months. Sigh- I can't believe its been that long.
Lets review...shall we?
*February at a glance: Celebrated J's birthday..he is the big 2-9 this year. Completely re-dic as I have known him since he was 17/18. Right?
- Celebrated the day of the Lovers- with $5 Valentines Day...we did this b/c we wanted to compete to see who could give eachother the best present for $5. He won with a handwrote-in-pencil love letter. I honestly can't even remember what I came up with. Lame-o.
*March at a glance:
Uh- stammer...I can't remember much of March. Oooo! I do remember that I went to Atlanta with my main running bud Maghan for a Half- Marathon. Can I get a whoop-whoop for setting a new PR of 2:15? 15 minutes faster than my last half in November of last year.
*April at a glance:
April was a big month for me...one that I'd been counting down to for the past 8 months. I headed out of the U.S of A with my Aunt (her husband is my mom's step brother) to the Mediterranean. Our sights were set on Greece, Turkey & Israel. It was quite the experience...such different cultures, being on a cruise ship for the first time..and being away from my life for almost 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure that if you are a follower you are also a FB friend...so go check out my pics..they are pretty awesome! I would upload them here but most of the time blogger and I end up fighting and I get flustered and just not care about pics.
*I got to see my beauts (my momma and sister) during April too. It was so awesome since I hadn't seen then for awhile..especially the sister since she lives in The North Pole aka Alaska.
May at a Glance:
*Celebrated the Lucky #7 Anny with the Bubs. I can't believe that we have been married for 7 years. Somedays it flies by...somedays it feels like "its only been 7??"
*Celebrated (or tried to ignore rather) turning the 2-7. Seriously is getting older that necessary? I already feel the wrinkles settling in...Boo.
I can't believe we are almost half way through 2011. Anyone have any big plans for summer?
Thats it for now my peeps...
I promise to post more soon. Keep an eye out for my new posts Loving & Loathing...(I stole these froma super cute bloggity I came across) it should be a good time. Until then I leave you with this...makes my heart smile.
Hugs

Rain.
Its raining again. Which honestly I welcome as opposed to the snow that the rest of the U.S. is getting. I have had my fair share of snow and ice and I am not interested in slipping and sliding my way to work.
Things in Beck life are moving right along. I am still running- my Half marathon is March 12. Last weekend we ran 9mi and it was a serious 70degrees. To go from 32 to 70 was great, unless you were running uphill for over an hour with the sun beating down on you. It was SO hot. Honestly it doesn't even feel like I am training but that is most likely because I am not running 15+ miles on the weekend.
The hub is turning 29 tomorrow. Do you know that when we first met, he was 17? And his first birthday present I ever gave him was a mix tape. Yep- my BFF at the time and I spent hours piecing together the perfect lyrics to put together this tape. I wonder if he remembers that it was his first gift? I guess it means something that he kept it, right? I don't have huge plans for him, but trying a new restaurant in Uptown (our downtown) and possibly a dessert bar. Though we've lived here for 4 years, we have just recently discovered all that Uptown has to offer....love it.
In other news, I am heartbroken with the things that are happening in Egypt. I have wanted to visit Egypt to see the pyramids and all of the history since 6th grade....was I 12 then? I bring this up, because I have a trip planned to the Mediterranean this April. Egypt just happened to be one of the places I was headed. Its still 2 months away, and anything could happen, but things aren't looking good. I am hopeful the people don't ruin this huge part of history. I can't help but feel immensely disappointed.
Well, that is it for now.
Hugs

Saying Goodbye to 2010 & welcoming '11 with open arms!
What a year 2010 was for me. At the end of every year- don't you look back and reminisce how bad/good it was? I truly loved 2010. Here are my reasons:
*Traveled to the far state of Alaska to visit my sister and her hub. SUCH a long travel day- but Oh-so-worth it! It was cold and snowy and perfect Alaska. I can't wait to go back.
*Adopted a sweet little Calico kitten- named Caris (Care-iss). A now loved member of our family- my Bella loves her new BFF.
*Began running again- in hopes of doing another Half Marathon in Virginia Beach in September.
*Celebrated turning 26 *sigh* and 6 years of marriage. We are still wanting to actually "do" something to celebrate this. A vacation is on the horizon!
*Surpassing my hope to not only run a Half Marathon in September, but running another in November and a Full marathon- My FIRST ever in December. The 26.2 decal is proudly displayed on the back end of my cute little car.
*Speaking of cars- sending a shout out to my Focie- my previous car lasted me 6 glorious years. We were actually on our way to Lowe's - the wonderful land of Home Improvement when the transmission died. I mean- POP, it was dead. Not the way I wanted a simple Sunday afternoon to go- but alas, I have a sweet new ride.
Closing out 2010, I was so blessed. And AM so blessed. A loving husband who listens to me gripe daily, who helps me when I can't walk after long runs and after my marathon. He is such an amazing man, coach and superfan. A wonderful family- who listen to me blabber about running and act like its the first time I have ever talked about it. A job, a house and a life that sometimes I take for granted. Thank you 2010 for giving me all of these things.

I am so ready for 2011. New goals, new outlooks, new adventures.
I don't really set "resolutions" for myself, but I do set goals. I have learned over the past 2 years (yes it took me 20+ years to learn this about myself) that I am very goal driven.
Here are those that made the cut:
1. Improve my Half marathon time by atleast 15 minutes.
2. Renovate our bathroom and office. We are serious DIY'ers and these are the close to the last of our projects.
3. Travel the world! Marking more places off my list come April & December.
4. Improve my marriage. No matter how great you are- there is always room for improvement. Coming up on 7 years- I hope to become a better wife and a better person. One who is patient and one who is a better listener. Though- I could be more patient if clothes could actually make it into the hamper. Okay- pretend like that last sentence wasn't there. Who knows- maybe it made his list of goals for the new year. Is that laughing I hear?
5. To become better friends with those I am friends with. I am a true believer you don't need a ton of friends, just a few really great ones.
So there ya have it my followers- my hopes for the coming year.
Until next time-
Hugs,

She speaks...
Hello my pretties and welcome to a brand new year... So many New things. Number one is my blog- in case you hadn't noticed its really no longer a "dual" blog. I had an epiphany and realized that the hub never has and never will read the blog nor will he contribute to it. Heck, he probably doesn't even know that we had it. At any rate- I hope to be able to blog more about things that are going on around me, in life and just random things that float around in my head. Stay tuned for a 2010 recap and a look at whats on tap for another great year.
Hugs!
